It's not just the R300 that doesn't have room to carry the gaseous equipment for such escape, it's almost certainly the vast majority of K-subs and those based off the Kittredge design. That's why taking this activity seriously, fabricating to standards, testing to standards, peer review by fellow submariners, maintenance and safety plans is so important. Our greatest and most dependable safety plan is a vessel that survives diving parameters and returns to the surface every time. That reduces risk to issues such as entanglement that might necessitate escape, however like all extreme activities I think it is axiomatic that ours is not without risk.</div><div class="qtdSeparateBR" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1556112850020_4191" dir="ltr"><br></div><div class="qtdSeparateBR" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1556112850020_4191" dir="ltr">Jon</div><div class="qtdSeparateBR" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1556112850020_4191" dir="ltr"><br></div><div class="yahoo_quoted" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1556112850020_4218" style="display: block;"> <div style="font-family: times new roman, new york, times, serif; font-size: 16px;" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1556112850020_4217"> <div style="font-family: HelveticaNeue, Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, Lucida Grande, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1556112850020_4216"> <div dir="ltr" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1556112850020_4215"> <font size="2" face="Arial" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1556112850020_4214"> <hr size="1" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1556112850020_4213"> <b id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1556112850020_4220"><span style="font-weight:bold;" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1556112850020_4219">From:</span></b> Stephen Fordyce via Personal_Submersibles <<a href="mailto:personal_submersibles@psubs.org">personal_submersibles@psubs.org</a>><br> <b id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1556112850020_4222"><span style="font-weight: bold;" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1556112850020_4221">To:</span></b> Personal Submersibles General Discussion <<a href="mailto:personal_submersibles@psubs.org">personal_submersibles@psubs.org</a>> <br> <b id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1556112850020_4224"><span style="font-weight: bold;" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1556112850020_4223">Sent:</span></b> Wednesday, April 24, 2019 12:14 AM<br> <b id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1556112850020_4226"><span style="font-weight: bold;" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1556112850020_4225">Subject:</span></b> Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] onboard gear<br> </font> </div> <div class="y_msg_container" id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1556112850020_4227"><div id="yiv6025614089"><div id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1556112850020_4229"><div id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1556112850020_4228"><br><div id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1556112850020_4263"><br clear="none"></div><div id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1556112850020_4270">I hate to be negative, but perhaps for deep PSUB diving, the inability to escape is just one of those residual risks that can be accepted for a recreational activity.</div><div id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1556112850020_4271"><br clear="none"></div><div id="yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1556112850020_4299"><br></div></div></div></div></div> </div> </div> </div></div></div></blockquote><blockquote type="cite"><div><span>_______________________________________________</span><br><span>Personal_Submersibles mailing list</span><br><span><a href="mailto:Personal_Submersibles@psubs.org">Personal_Submersibles@psubs.org</a></span><br><span><a href="http://www.psubs.org/mailman/listinfo.cgi/personal_submersibles">http://www.psubs.org/mailman/listinfo.cgi/personal_submersibles</a></span><br></div></blockquote></body></html>
