Just this evening I finished making a set of five "mushroom" valves - four for the boat and one spare. I've been testing them by installing them in the bottom of a bucket and using them to dump the water. Monday I'll take them to be anodized, and when I get them back will take photos and post something on the projects page. They're a Hugh Fulton design and I have to say I'm impressed, he did an absolutely amazing job. The root of Shackleton's problems was water blocking in the MBT vent lines, which turns out to be a hard problem to solve with the raft configuration MBTs because the lines have a lot of horizontal ground to cover. Since mushroom valves use no vent line, there can't be water blocking and I'm hoping they're the solution. Next up, I'm going to go into calculations and design mode and make new MBTs that leverage these valves. It'll be interesting diving with these, the sub should submerge in seconds. It's four valves that are three inches in diameter each.<div><div><div><br clear="none"></div><div>Best,</div><div>Alec</div></div></div></div></span><div class="m_-4216189827981453472yiv4696637889gmail_extra"><br clear="none"><div class="m_-4216189827981453472yiv4696637889gmail_quote"><span class="">On Fri, Dec 22, 2017 at 7:35 PM, hank pronk via Personal_Submersibles <span dir="ltr"><<a rel="nofollow" shape="rect" href="mailto:personal_submersibles@psubs.org" target="_blank">personal_submersibles@psubs.<wbr>org</a>></span> wrote:<br clear="none"></span><blockquote class="m_-4216189827981453472yiv4696637889gmail_quote" style="margin:0 0 0 .8ex;border-left:1px #ccc solid;padding-left:1ex"><div class="m_-4216189827981453472yiv4696637889yqt7377304581" id="m_-4216189827981453472yiv4696637889yqt36202"><div><div style="font-family:Helvetica Neue,Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px"><span class=""><div id="m_-4216189827981453472yiv4696637889m_9132348206498682936ydp69d4db63yiv9820811262"><div><div style="font-family:Helvetica Neue,Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px"><div></div>
