Like you said before I can get these motors very cheap. One thing that I did was to drill a hole in the bottom of the motor housing in an effort to create some flow for the WD-40 to circulate through the motor and the gear box. Don't know if it will do any good but at least it gives the WD 40 a place to come in and gets the air to eventually migrate out to the top.</DIV><DIV> </DIV><DIV> </DIV><DIV> </DIV><DIV>Brian</DIV><DIV> </DIV><DIV><BR><BR>--- personal_submersibles@psubs.org wrote:<BR><BR>From: hank pronk via Personal_Submersibles <personal_submersibles@psubs.org><BR>To: Brian Cox via Personal_Submersibles <personal_submersibles@psubs.org><BR>Subject: Re: [PSUBS-MAILIST] Battery off gassing<BR>Date: Thu, 12 Oct 2017 20:39:51 +0000 (UTC)<BR><BR></DIV><DIV style="font-family: Helvetica Neue, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px;"><DIV></DIV>

<DIV>Brian,</DIV><DIV>I was under the impression that AGM batteries did not. Your probably right though and in my case the batteries are not sealed up in a compartment and are well vented. You must be getting real close to having a working sub.</DIV><DIV>Hank</DIV><DIV><BR></DIV>

<DIV>Brian,</DIV><DIV>Where are your batteries going to be, I am assuming in the horizontal tube. When you say of gassing, I assume you mean Hydrogen. The Hydrogen is going to float up and keep going up out the hatch isn't it? I think the venting systems are for pods or in my case in Gamma where the batteries are sealed in a small area. It is wierd they off gas, what did you buy?</DIV><DIV>Hank</DIV><DIV><BR></DIV>
