text/plain; charset="utf-8"

Jerry, I agree with Jim. My first full
scale mock up of the hull and
consoles, found myself climbing up on my work
bench on Sunday evening, the
family was upstairs in bed, my cell phone
sitting on the work bench. I
climbed into the front pilot position, slid
down into the seat, and my
moment of elation as to how it felt, turned into
terror, as I discovered
that I could not stand up to get out. Apperently I
neglected to measure the
distance from hip to knee, to bend and stand up.
So using the only tool I
could reach, because I was sitting on it was my
drill motor. I extracted
myself screw by screw until I could stand up.
Hence the hatch is now a
bigger diameter, the hull is also bigger, and
consoles have been
redesigned. So I am a firm believer in full scale
mockups.

Best Regards,
David Colombo
On Nov 21, 2016 6:41 PM,

Looking at starting up a Submersible project
>
> ?
>
>
Hello all,
>
> ?
>
> I'm looking into building a one
person submersible next year but need some
> help getting started.
?
>
> ?
>
> The plane is to build it around the size
of the Sgt. Peppers submersible
> but a little bigger. ?(I want it
smaller than the K-250). ?Also I'm looking
> at having a working depth
at around 150-200 feet. ?Any suggestions on where
> to get started?
?Should I by the plans for the K-250 and make it smaller?
>
>
?
>
> I don't know if it helps or not but I'm located in Lawrence,
Kansas. ?
>
> ?? ? ? ? ? ?(And I won't be the first person to
build a submersible in
> Kansas because it looks like that there's a man
(Scott Waters) from Salina,
> KS that built a k-350.)
>
>
?
>
> If you guys have any questions, I would be happy to answer
those for you.
>
> ?
>
> Thanks,
>
>
