<html><head></head><body><p dir="ltr">The external gauges are likely for the hydraulic system (pump, manipulators, etc.) pressures, as these would have no reason to be plumbed into the personnel sphere, and would represent a risk of contaminating the atmosphere in the event of a leak / spill. </p>
<p dir="ltr">I did a lot of ROV projects in which mechanical gauges were similarly placed within a camera field of view. Much simpler and cheaper to piggyback on the video versus signal conditioning a transducer and sending that measurement separately up an umbilical.</p>
