If you have a smartphone, you can use the Navionics app to download charts to your phone and then see your GPS position on them, out of network range (they are proprietary charts, very detailed).</p>

US Coast Guard just came out with a great new feature for their USA water navigation charts, freely downloadable in PDF format. This is much better than their online viewer because the image scales better on a large monitor.  See link below.<br>
