 I may end up there as well David, but I'm just stubborn enough to keep experimenting with oil.  I'd be interested to see the results of plain old mineral oil.  I know there might be a power hit from the higher viscosity but maybe that tradeoff is acceptable if the brushes don't disintegrate.
