[PSUBS-MAILIST] News report: Simon Lake's "Defender" found in Long Island Sound

In those days, a personal submersible was a major thing.  Simon Lake had 
a large idea for "personal submersibles."

/Defender/ was launched by Newport News in 1906.  According to 
Friedman's book /U.S. Submarines Through 1945/, it was used in Lake's 
treasure hunting before being abandoned in 1937 and scuttled in 1946.

I'll try to follow this story.
