This is unfortunate news, Doug. At least your 9.9 is available in the meantime.

Best of luck.

Well friends, it would seem that perhaps I spoke too soon when I offered the services of the new Zodiac at next year's event in Michigan. The boat itself is actually inbound this week via truck freight. It had no delays at port because coming in from Europe, it entered the country on the Atlantic side and avoided the major snafu currently plaguing our Pacific coast ports. But I've run into a snag with the motor... Major ordering backlogs with almost all new outboards! I had my sights set on a Yamaha 25-hp short shaft, tiller-operated outboard due to the high-efficiency motor and great power:weight ratio but it looks like if I order one right now, it'll be a 6 to 9 month lead-time due to major supply chain disruptions. I'll be meeting with my local Yamaha dealer tomorrow to discuss options but at this point it looks like I have two viable routes: order now and wait -or- look for a decent used engine for sale. I do have a 9.9-hp outboard that I could use in the interim if I decide to order a new motor and wait it out, but for the purpose of towing subs I think a 25-hp is necessary. I'll keep you all apprised of progress with the new boat, but wow I am disappointed that so many different things I used to take for granted (that you could just go out and buy) are getting very difficult to find. Not good. ~ Doug S.

Definitely. I can put slides up on the website. I've got Steve's and Cliff's.

Thanks Jon, After reading posts from all the others over the years, I think it adds a lot to see them on the screen.

Maybe next year?

Most of the Zoom meetings that I have attended and there are more than 10 others on camera it causes a significant increase in bandwidth usage. This causes the speaker's video to lag and become jerky.

Agreed that it is a better meeting when everyone is on video, but muted in order to avoid distracting background noises.

This was a terrific session, very close to being there together. But unfortunate that we could not all participate with lunch and dinner and off line discussions. Unfortunately, I missed the first hour. I was able to take screen photos of various slides for further study.

Looking forward the next one, in person or online!

Rick, totally up to each person if they want to be on video or not. A lot of our members are still working for a living so difficult for them to hook up on a weekday but unfortunately a weekday was all I could book for a meeting room.

I did not record any of the material. Steve suggested it to me but my hands were full just trying to keep the audio going. That might be possible in future if we can find a zoom-master to run the online meeting.

Hi Jon, I tuned in towards the end of the event as I am 6 hours away but it was great to be able to use the zoom format for the first time due to those who would like to be there but couldnt' for some reason.

Do you have a list of who was able to show up via Zoom? I didn't see some of the regulars like Hank, Sean, Vance as well as some of the others. I hope that we can start doing that every year. When I was on, there were about 6 others that were on as well but no one had their cameras turned on so I didn't either. Was there a reason as it would be nice to see everyone as well.
