Jon,
the SSB 2010 is rated for 500ft. The newer models we were looking at on Psubs FB
were rated to 300ft. I would guess they factor in a safety margin.
As you say, they don't have a max depth for the top side transducer, they just
quote the length of the cable.
I'm just concerned that the transducer designed for top side use mightn't be as
depth capable as the smaller transducer designed for diver use.
This would be a good question for OTS technical dept. if they answered questions!
