Rick,Apparently, vaseline will cause o-rings to crack over time.  Your supposed to use silicone grease.  I use what ever is in the grease gun.Hank

I never did pot my VHF antenna and it works great. I did however pot my GPS and I just filled it with epoxy and it works great too.
