Hi Sean,

Nice to know you have a coffee machine in your sub!

Are you able to provide chapter and verse on the passenger requirements for a bilge pump? Only as a matter of interest but I couldn’t find it. My section 11 stopped prematurely.

Cheers, Hugh

The exception being for passenger submersibles, as per ABS 11/49.9.

That said, I think some water ingress is inevitable, even if it is just from admitting rain through an open hatch or spilling your coffee, and I would consider this in design, even if just to ensure accessability to these spaces for mopping up.

Sean

Are bilge pumps common or required by ABS, if so are they high pressure or low pressure for the surface only.
