[PSUBS-MAILIST] transducer switch

Just came across this switch that can connect 2 transducers to
1 sonar display.

The idea being that you have a downward looking
transducer for bottom terrain & depth, & a collision avoidance
sonar pointing forward, that you can switch between & display on
the one unit.
I have little knowledge about sonar. Does this idea have any merit,
or is anyone doing his? Regards Alan
